Having a hand made finished piece of pottery gives children pride and physically instills in them the significance of the techniques they were taught. Having a finished piece to keep or give as gifts adds a special value to the child’s life and can make clay a very memorable experience.
Students will learn, hand building, how to use molds and potters wheel.
They will create sculpture, and functional projects with beautiful high fire glazing techniques, fun and colorful low fire bisque painting, sgraffito with underglazes, textures with stains and wax resist techniques.
